Woodcreek
Woodcreek is a 102-unit Planned Development Housing (PDH)
project in Launani
Valley, O´ahu. On a gentle slope along Wikao Stream, the development contains 80 single-family units and
11 duplex units, as well as a recreation complex and a park that was created
as part of an earlier phase of the project.
- Mason Architects was part of a team of structural, civil, and landscape
consultants that laid out the private roads, placed the units on the site, and
designed four different unit types.
- The four unit types, all two-story, vary in window types, roofline (hip
or gable), siding (vertical or horizontal), and exterior colors.
- The stringent regulations governing PDH developments required MAI to
work closely with the Department of Planning and Permitting.
- The geological complexity and unusual shape of the site
presented a challenge for the design team to meet the developer's
needs.

This street of Woodcreek homes climbs a gentle rise toward a wooded hillside.
The houses are constructed of steel studs with wood-framed floors and roofs. They are naturally ventilated. |
