Each villa had a view of the golf course and mountains
beyond.
Bay Club
Mason Architects designed and prepared the construction drawings for this luxury
time-share condominium of 114 units at Waikoloa, Island of Hawaii. Each unit
in the cluster of three-story buildings opened onto balconies overlooking the
mountains, pool, or 18-hole golf course. The Bay Club remains unbuilt.
- The buildings were designed in a contemporary
Hawaiian style, with cement tile roofs, horizontal wood siding, plaster,
and cast stone wainscotting.
- Typical unit interiors featured contemporary curved
walls with niches, and flooring was made of bamboo, carpet, and stone tile.
- Balcony railings were of glass or aluminum grillework
in an Asian-Pacific design.
- Twenty-four units were designed as large private villas
in a separate gated area with private pool and recreation area.
