Katharine Slocumb, AIA, has recently designed several environmentally sensitive projects for the National Park Service, including a new visitor center for Pu´ukohola Heiau National Historic Site, a new administration building for Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historic Park, an award-winning comfort station at the summit of Haleakala National Park, and an entry station for Volcanoes National Park. She has researched and planned the restoration and adaptive reuse of Washington Place, the Kohala Girls School, Palm Circle Officer's Housing at Fort Shafter, and many other historically significant structures. Katie received an M.Arch in 1992 and a Graduate Certificate in Historic Preservation in 1991 from the University of Hawaii. She has worked with Glenn Mason since 1992.
