Joy Davidson, AIA, focuses on historic structures reports and preservation and adaptive use plans for historic buildings, especially those on military installations. She is the historical architect for the Hickam Historic Housing Renovation, the incorporation of historic buildings into NOAA's new Pacific Region Center, and the adaptive use of several buildings on Ford Island and the Navy Shipyard. She completed the Preservation Design Plan for Non-Residential Buildings at Hickam AFB, Historic Housing Surveys of ten neighborhoods in Navy Region Hawaii, and the Revitalization Plan for three historic neighborhoods. Joy prepared the Historic Structures Reports for Hawaiian and Bishop Halls, Bishop Museum. She received an Arch.D. and a Graduate Certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Hawaii and joined Mason Architects in 2002. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the AIA, Honolulu Chapter.
